Pride Community Foundation is delighted to invite you to an afternoon of ‘Queering Politics’ in the council chamber at Brighton Town Hall hosted by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Cllr Amanda Grimshaw BEM.
An informal dicussion panel of queer politicians, councillors and allies will discuss the structure of local government, what councils and councillors actually do, and how YOU can get involved.
Aimed at LGBTQIA+ people curious about politics, activists, organisers and community volunteers, this is an informal learning event where you can hear from, and put your questions to, our panel who have lived experience.
We want to support LGBTQIA+ people to take part in politics with confidence, to show that standing for local office is realistic and reachable and that your voice can, and should, be heard.
No speeches.
No party recruitment.
No commitment required.
You leave informed, empowered and knowing this space is open to you.
