Volunteer Research Assistant

Location: Brighton (Ironworks Studios) or remote

Time commitment: Flexible, with a preference for longer-term involvement

Expenses: Reasonable expenses reimbursed

About the role

We are looking for volunteers with an interest in research to help us understand and advocate for the needs of LGBTQ+ people across the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity for students, early-career researchers, or anyone who enjoys structured, methodical work.

You’ll work closely with our CEO and staff team on projects such as:

  • Producing reports on LGBTQ+ community needs
  • Mapping gaps in existing legislation
  • Gathering and analysing evidence to support campaigns for legislative change

What you’ll gain

  • Experience working directly with the leadership of a national LGBTQ+ charity
  • The chance to develop research, analysis, and advocacy skills
  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful, real-world impact for LGBTQ+ communities
  • A flexible, supportive volunteering environment without the red tape of large organisations

Application Process

Applying is simple. Please email jobs@pridecommunityfoundation.org with:

  • A short statement about yourself
  • Any access or support requirements you may have
  • Your connection to the LGBTQ+ community
  • Why this opportunity interests you

We’ll then be in touch to arrange a short “get to know each other” meeting.
